Chocolate Bark & Oreo Balls
Hey Y'all,
Hope everyone is having a wonderful hump day and week so far. I can not believe that we are only 3 days away from Christmas, man how time has flown this year. So these recipes are a family favorite to give out for the holiday season to friends or for neighbors. You make them the night before let them set up and bag the next to hand out to people. You can always add like a jar of your favorite dessert sauce or jelly or a dessert wine.
For the Chocolate Bark you will need 1 bag Nestle White Chocolate Chips, 1 bag Nestle Dark Chocolate Chips, Handful Dried Cranberries and a Handful of Cashew pieces. Take a bowl and pour the white chocolate in it. Microwave for 1 minute then stir together and microwave for 15 seconds after every time until the white chocolate is melted. In another bowl pour the dark chocolate chips and microwave for 1 minute. Stir and microwave for 15 seconds or until melted. Then take a baking pan and line with Wax Paper. Pour the white chocolate on one half and then pour the dark chocolate on the other side. The with a tooth pick or a fork swirl the 2 chocolates together. Once mixed together for you liking sprinkle the cranberries and cashews on top. Cover with foil and place in the fridge overnight to let it harden or at least 4 hours. Then break apart into pieces and serve.
For the Oreo Balls you will need 1 pkg Oreo cookies, 8 oz. Cream Cheese and 1 bag Nestle Milk Chocolate chips. First get a 1 gallon Ziploc bag and add the Oreo cookies to the bag. Then crush them either using a rolling pin or smashing them with you hand. Once they are all crushed up take the block of cream cheese and mix together with the Oreo's until well blended. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper. With a cookie scooper, scoop out the mixture into balls and place on wax paper. Place Oreo balls in the fridge for about 2 hours or until firm/cold. In a bowl place the chocolate chips and microwave for 1 minute. Then stir and microwave for 15 seconds every time after or until melted. Take the Oreo balls out of the fridge. Then take the Oreo balls and dip them into the chocolate until coated. Using a fork lift out of the chocolate and place back on the wax paper. Once they are all coated in chocolate place in the fridge for another 2 hours to let the chocolate harden. Serve and Enjoy.
These desserts are so good and easy to make to impress your friends. In the chocolate bark you get the sweet from the chocolate and cranberries and then the salt from the cashews. It is great snack food and people will not want to stop eating it. The Oreo balls are so rich and delicious. You can put these out at your next family gathering or take them with you to a Christmas Party instead of just cookies. I hope your family and friends enjoy these as much as mine did. Next time I will bring you our Roasted Tomato Soup and Parmesan Garlic Toast. It is such a warm and comforting soup, great for the cold winter season. Have a wonderful evening and see you next time.
