Herbed Basmati Rice

Hey Y'all,

I hope that everyone had a wonderful July 4th.  We were busy cooking, going to a parade and watching/shooting off fireworks.  Last year we were in a drought at this time and we had no fireworks, so this year we definitely made up for it.  Both me and my sister have been working so much that we haven't been blogging as much.  But we promise to make time for it even if it is late at night we will be posting.  There are some awesome recipes coming later this month in the blog.  We have been creating them and trying different recipes, so be on the look out for those.  Now for the Herbed Basmati Rice, this recipe is light, refreshing, and delicious.
For the ingredients you will need 1 3/4 cup Water, 1 cup uncooked long grained Basmati Rice, 3/4 tsp. Salt, 1 tbsp. Butter, 2 tbsp. minced Parsley, 1 tbsp. minced Dill, 1 tbsp. minced Scallions, and black pepper.
Combine the water, rice, salt and butter in a pot.  Bring to a boil over high heat and reduce to low heat, stir once.  Put a lid on the pot and cook for 15 minutes.  Turn off the heat and allow rice to sit covered for 5 minutes.  Add the parsley, dill, scallions, and pepper.  Fluff the rice with a fork and that will mix the herbs up in the rice.  Serve and Enjoy.

This rice is so good!!!!  You get the a little bit of a crunch from the rice and the refreshing taste from the herbs.  You get hints of salt and pepper throughout the rice but it doesn't over power the herbs.  The dill has a nice flavor that mixes well with the parsley and scallions.  You also get that nice onion flavor which adds a bit of spice to the rice.  You can add all different types of herbs to the rice.  I have done basil, rosemary and chives.  You can also do cilantro, lime, and green onions.  This dish goes great with any meat that you are serving.  I hope that your family enjoys this as much as mine did.  Next time I am going to bring you Asian Style Pork Ribs.  It was a total experiment that turned out absolutely amazing.  Have a wonderful day and see y'all next time.
