Old Farmhouse Chutney Cheese Ball
Hey Y'all,
Happy New Year!!!!!! I hope that everyone is enjoying the new year. I had such a wonderful holiday and wonderful new year. It was great seeing friends and family that I haven't seen in a while. We did lots of cooking and lots of eating out. We have been working on some places for our Restaurant Reviews and will be bringing those to you at least twice a month. In the review we will be grading them on waiting, food, time and the overall experience. We will also be bringing you are favorite dishes along with a picture and we will recommend items on the menu for you when you go the next time. Now, on to the cheese ball. This is one that we have been enjoying for years and literally you want to like the bowl and plate clean!!! It is just that GOOD!!!!
For the cheese ball you will need 16 oz. Cream Cheese, 1 tsp. Garlic minced, 1/4 cup Scallions chopped, 1/2 jar Stonewall Kitchen Old Farmhouse Chutney, 1 cup Colby Jack Cheese shredded, 3/4 cup Pecan pieces, Salt & Pepper.
First take the cream cheese out of the fridge and let it come to room temperature for about 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes. While the cream cheese is sitting there, pre heat the oven to 350. Take the Pecan pieces and place them on a baking sheet. Let them roast in the oven for 5 to 10 minutes or until you can smell them. Set the Pecans aside and let them cool. Chop up the Garlic and Scallions and set aside. Once the cream cheese is soften, put it in a mixing bowl. Add the Chutney, Garlic, Scallions, Cheese, Salt and Pepper. Mix all of the ingredients together until blended. Take a piece of Saran wrap and lay it out on the counter. Place the some of the Pecan's on the Saran wrap. Make sure that the cream cheese mixture is in the form of a ball and place it on top of the pecans. Then with the rest of Pecan's and coat the cheese ball with them. Once done wrap the Saran wrap around the ball and place it on a plate. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours to let the flavors mix together. We do ours the night before and then take it out 30 minutes before serving to take the chill off. Serve with Bagel Crisp or Crackers.

This cheese ball is by far one of the best things that I have ever eaten!!!!!! It has a wonderful flavor from the Chutney and then you get a little bit of spicy from the garlic and scallion. You can make this at you next party or get together and everyone will be so impressed. Most people who don't like cheese ball's have loved this one. Also, this can be done the night before the party and then the next day just take it out to serve. Which I love because it is one less thing I have to worry about doing. I hope you enjoy this as much as my family and friends have. Next time I will be bringing you my Bacon & Cheese Quiche. Have a wonderful new year and see you next time.
