French Fries
Hey Y'all,
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far. It is hard to believe that May is almost over with. It has flown by and with one job winding down I will have more time to do this blog. I am most excited about that!!! My sister is done with college for the semester and is now back at home. So you will be seeing more restaurant reviews on here since we will have time to do them now. Now on to the French Fries. This was my first time ever making these and they turned out amazing. My dad and mom had made them before but hadn't done them in years. They are the ones that are a little bit crunchy, salty, and spicy at the same time.
For the ingredients you will need 4 - 6 potatoes, bowl of cold water, 1 tbsp. salt, 1 tsp. pepper, 1 tbsp. cajun seasoning, and vegetable oil.
Wash the potatoes and peel them except leave the skins on the end of the potatoes. Slice the potatoes down the middle long ways. Then slice it into the size you like your french fries. You can do wedges, skinny or crinkle fries with a crinkle cutter. Place the fries in a bowl filled with cold water. Let them sit in there for about 20 minutes. Line a cookie sheet with paper towels. Take the potatoes out of the water and lay them on the paper towels. Make sure they are completely dried off before you start frying them. Take a dutch oven or heavy bottom pot and add enough oil fill the pot about 2/3 of the way up. Heat over medium heat. Mix together cajun seasoning, salt and pepper together in a small bowl. Once oil is heated, start adding the potatoes to the oil. Do not over crowd them!! Cook until potatoes are nice and golden. With a fry ladle move the potatoes around in the oil so the don't stick to each other. Take the french fries out and lay on a paper lined plate. Season with the cajun seasoning mixture. Repeat the frying process until all potatoes are cooked. Serve and Enjoy!!!
These fries are crunchy, salty, a little bit spicy and so delicious!!!! This is one that you can make any time that you have hamburgers or hotdogs or just as a snack. They are super easy and usually you have all of the ingredients on hand. My sister's boyfriend Justin kept going back for more and more. He ended up almost clearing the entire plate himself. He loved these so much and Allie was glad because this was another thing that she could make and it was easy. I hope that you family and friends enjoy these as much as mine did. Next time I am going to bring you my Coconut Lime Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting. So good for the summer time and very delicious. Have a great weekend and see y'all next time.
